Step 1.
Prior to Implant Placement: Your dentist, possibly in conjunction with a specialist such as an oral surgeon or periodontist will do a thorough examination including x-rays, measurements and models.
Step 2.
Surgical Placement of the Implant: The implant will be surgically placed in your jaw replacing the root of the missing tooth. After this is done, a temporary tooth is provided that allows you eat and function like normal almost immediately. The implant will need a few months to integrate with the jawbone before the next step is taken.
Step 3:
Attaching a Crown to the Implant: The final step is the placement of the permanent ceramic tooth. The new tooth is placed restoring all function that may have been lost without the original natural tooth. No additional treatment is needed.
Step 4:
Implant Maintenance: You should expect the new tooth to fit and function just like a natural tooth. As with your natural teeth it is important to maintain good oral hygiene through regular visits to the dentist and daily brushing and flossing.
